Function
The DARC 2-Compact is operated directly on the three-phase mains (3 × 400 V, 50 to 60 Hz); mains filter and braking resistor are integrated. It positions one axis with a brushless servo motor and is controlled via the integrated fieldbus or alternatively via digital binary inputs – simple applications need no fieldbus connection at all. A short-circuit-proof output switches the motor holding brake, and a PTC input monitors the motor temperature. Machines with two axes use two Compact controllers; from three axes upwards the modular DARC 2 system is used.

Compact design
In the DARC 2-Compact the mains input, DC link, braking resistor and axis controller are permanently combined in one housing; the 7-segment display for operating and fault states is built into the unit. There are no insert cards and no add-on modules – the controller is replaced as a complete unit, making it the simplest solution for a single axis.
