The Ferrocontrol DARC2 A04-18-08 is a digital axis controller (servo module) with 4 A rated current (2 kW) for the Ferrocontrol DARC 2 drive system, supplied without insert card. The controller drives a brushless servo motor and is fed with the DC link voltage by the DARC supply module.

For machine operators
If your window or profile machining centre reports a fault on an axis controller, you will find the type designation on the nameplate of the module. Tell us this designation and the machine type – Finke Maschinen supplies the matching replacement unit with the firmware and parameter sets belonging to your machine (Plug and Work). You swap the module without having to program or adjust anything yourself.

Insert card
This unit is supplied without a function insert; the slot on the front is free. The insert from your previous controller (e.g. standard insert DE-STA or safety relay insert DE-SIR) can be reused or ordered together with the controller. At least one standard insert is required for operation; the inserts are detected automatically at power-up.

Function within the DARC 2 system
The axis controller converts the DC link voltage supplied by the supply module (560 V DC) into the three-phase motor voltage for the synchronous servo motor and controls the speed and position of the axis. Up to eight axis controllers operate on one supply module and communicate via the DARC system bus. The high-resolution encoder input (1 Vpp) is used for electronic commutation as well as speed and position feedback; absolute encoder systems can be operated on the same interface. A short-circuit-proof 28 V output switches the motor holding brake, and a PTC input monitors the motor temperature.
