The E-DARC C08Si is a digital axis controller (servo controller) of the E°Darc C series from Eckelmann for operating synchronous and linear motors. The E-DARC C08Si in the 8 A power class operates on the 560 V DC link of an E°Darc supply module (Pxx) and controls current, speed and position fully digitally. This version features the integrated safety function STO (Safe Torque Off).
Control and communication
The controller uses digital current, speed and position control including position, speed and torque limitation. The selectable switching frequency (4/8/12/16 kHz) allows adaptation to the motor and application. Communication and parameterisation are carried out via CANopen.
Feedback and monitoring
Incremental encoders as well as absolute encoders (EnDat, Hiperface, single- and multi-turn) are supported for position feedback. Extensive protection functions – short-circuit, overvoltage, temperature, encoder, following-error and I²t monitoring – ensure reliable operation.
Integrated safety (STO)
Via the EnDat 2.2 Functional Safety interface, the controller implements the Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function and enables a safety-oriented stop without an external contactor.
