The Ferrocontrol FBUR Elumatec is a fieldbus axis computer (fieldbus universal computer) of the CNC fieldbus system. It connects the decentralised input/output modules to the CNC fieldbus and additionally positions up to three axes on its own.
Function in the CNC fieldbus system
The Ferrocontrol CNC fieldbus system is a decentralised control: the input and output modules are located directly at the machine instead of centrally in the control cabinet and are connected to the control computer via a two-wire line. Like the fieldbus node FBK, the axis computer connects up to eight input/output modules to the CNC fieldbus via a 26-pin header connector; the modules are detected and addressed automatically. In addition, with connected encoder and analog output modules (FB-INC1, FB-SAE, FB-ANO) it can move up to three axes on its own – it receives the setpoint positions from the control computer via the fieldbus. Only the node address is set via six DIP switches.
Monitoring and indication
A potential-free watchdog relay contact (NO) opens in the event of faults or missing power supply. A red LED flashes on errors on the CNC fieldbus, a green LED indicates the supply voltage. If only one fieldbus cable is connected, a terminator connector is required on the free connection.
