The Eckelmann E-DARC S12E is a digital low-voltage drive controller of the E°Darc S series for servo motors with up to 60 V DC link voltage and 12 A rated current. It is used on window production and processing machines for compact drives where no 320 V or 560 V controllers are required.
Control and communication
The controller works fully digitally with current, speed and position control. Setpoints and parameters are transferred via EtherCAT® with CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE) – the E version of the controller for controls with an EtherCAT fieldbus. Digital inputs evaluate limit and reference switches, various referencing methods are available; a digital output controls the motor brake. The braking resistor is connected externally.
Feedback and monitoring
Absolute encoders (single-turn or multi-turn, battery-backed) serve as position feedback, so no reference run is required after switching on. Short-circuit, voltage, temperature, encoder, following-error and I²t monitoring protect controller and motor during operation.
For the window manufacturer
If a drive controller fails, the axis stops. Finke Maschinen supplies the controller as a replacement, tests and repairs defective units and, on request, exchanges them on the machine. Please state the machine manufacturer, machine type and the number from the controller’s type plate when enquiring – we deliver the matching unit (Plug and Work).
